What is a Recourse Loan?

Recourse Loan Definition

A recourse loan is any loan in which the lender can come after the borrower, the borrower’s estate, or the borrower’s heirs for compensation in the case of default. Lenders have a number of tools at their disposal for this, including wage garnishment and levies on bank account. Most reverse mortgages are not recourse loans, though.
